Join us for a workshop to plant sweet peas and create a twig wigwam for them.
The workshop will start with a walk in the park to collect twigs to make the wigwam. We'll then do the planting in the community garden by Gardener's Cottage.
The event is aimed at children and is suitable for children aged 7 or over. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. When booking a ticket for a child, just book one ticket (we will assume an adult is accompanying them). Booking essential.
You will need to:
wear suitable footwear for a muddy walk
bring a toilet roll tube to plant your seeds in.
Optional to also bring a pot of diameter 20cm or more if you want your sweet pea wigwam to be built for a specific pot.
Because of the walk to collect sticks, it is not suitable for buggies or younger children.
The workshop will be led by Michelle Brandon, a local horticultural therapist and garden designer. It is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
